An homage to the sun, to the light held within us, and to the quiet movement of becoming. Solas Climber brings together the Irish word solas, meaning light, and an English name that remains open and easily understood beyond Ireland. It is a small homage to the language of the place where the piece was made, while keeping the story of the pendant connected to an international audience. The name carries the idea of continuing forward, climbing towards the stars, and keeping what matters close.
At the centre of the pendant, a 9ct yellow gold sphere is positioned as a small sun. It sits within darkened sterling silver, while the mirrored edges of the surrounding circle extend outward like rays, revealing a subtle sun symbol within the structure. A natural tanzanite brings a deep violet-blue contrast to the warmth of the gold and the shadowed silver, like a point of sky held at the heart of the piece.
Solas Climber is also a sterling silver stack ring holder pendant. Its integrated mechanism allows a ring to be attached securely to the necklace without opening the clasp. It can keep your rings safe during physical activity, or hold another person’s ring, an heirloom, or a memory from another time close to your heart.
Handcrafted by Fabio Oliveira in Cork, Ireland, using recycled sterling silver, 9ct gold and natural tanzanite. A piece made to be worn with intention, kept close, and carried forward.
